CYCLO X Boulder Colorado, Blizzard

CYCLO X - BOULDER COLORADO
SERIES #6

What is Cyclo-Cross?

Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, CCX, cyclo-X or  ' cross) is a form of bicycle racing? Races typically take place in the autumn and winter and consist of many laps of a short (2.5–3.5 km or 1.5–2 mile) course featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount. Races are based on categories and generally run between 30 minutes to an hour, with the distance varying depending on the ground conditions.

JZ has participated in several cross races in Colorado and has even built his own cross bike. He continues to move up in his division and has now been joined by teammate Derek Allison! Derek makes it look easy, like he has been racing cross for years. The temperatures were in the single digits, it was snowing, and the conditions were very icy. These conditions made the steps slick and the sand in the beach areas “down right brutal”. Even though the race was quite challenging, JZ and Derek kept coming back for more throughout the weekend. Go Team Lupine Racing USA! It is so great to see JZ and Derek get out there and play year round! See you out there.
